What Happens After Your Singapore Citizenship Is Approved: Stage 2 SC Journey Explained
So you’ve received the exciting news — your Singapore Citizenship application has been approved-in-principle. But before you can take the final step to become a full citizen, you must complete the Singapore Citizenship (SC) Journey.
Let’s break it down clearly so you don’t miss anything important.
🧭 What is the SC Journey?
The SC Journey is a mandatory program that helps new citizens connect with Singapore’s culture, community, and values.
It comprises 3 components:

Singapore Experiential Visit (SEV)

Community Sharing Session (CSS)

e-Journey
📌 You must complete all three within 2 months from the date on your approval letter.

You can only access the SC Journey portal 3 working days after the date of your approval letter.

📅 Step 2: Book & Attend Your Sessions

Attend a guided visit to key national sites to learn more about Singapore’s history and heritage.

After your visit, you must log in to the SC Journey portal and complete the SEV survey
👉 Without the survey, your visit will not be counted as completed.
✅ Community Sharing Session (CSS)

After attending, log in and complete the CSS feedback survey
👉 Your session will not be counted as complete until the survey is submitted.

❌ Do NOT renounce your foreign citizenship or surrender your passport.
That step only comes at Stage 3, after completing the SC Journey and receiving a notification from ICA. -
❌ Avoid booking international travel more than 2–3 months ahead, as you may need your passport for Stage 3 formalities or renunciation.
🧾 What’s Next After SC Journey?
Once you’ve completed all 3 components and submitted the required surveys:
✅ You’ll receive a completion confirmation on the SC Journey portal
✅ Your account will be deactivated soon after — no action is needed
✅ Your citizenship application will continue to be processed by the ICA
🛑 Note: You do NOT need to complete the optional post-programme survey. Your application will still proceed.
